Oud for Glory is not a safe blind buy to start with. I think people should know that before ordering it only because of the hype. On my skin it smells very masculine, dark and honestly a little aggressive, probably because of the oud, saffron and patchouli combination. It has that heavy, spicy, woody character that immediately feels more serious than casual. The funny thing is that I got three compliments the first day I wore it, so clearly it works, but it is not the kind of fragrance everyone will enjoy. I do think it may be slightly overhyped, but that does not mean it is bad. It is a very solid men’s fragrance with a clear identity, strong presence and good performance. It reminds me of entering a room full of people; not loud in a fresh-blue-perfume way, but still very noticeable. Definitely not for anyone under 30, in my opinion. This smells more mature, confident and intense. Use fewer sprays, because this one does not ask for attention, it takes it.

this was a sort of half blind, half remembering smelling it a month ago, but it was a good choice! I got it for about 16 dollars at the Marshall's I work at and for that price it could be mediocre as hell and I'd still keep it. I was worried by the initial spray, which has that heavy patchouli overly soaked metallic screech that most men's colognes from Marshalls have, and me and patchouli aren't good friends because of that. luckily, the nutty and slightly sweet tones save this one and it dries down quickly to a nice woody, warm spicy with a faintest sweet tone making it very yummy but definitely a nighttime/autumnal scent. I'm definitely gonna layer it with something more gourmand like my Marshal's cocoa and vanilla spray to really give it some oomph
I received a 2ml sample from a very good friend of mine who also reviews perfumes on TikTok in Sweden. He sent me a couple of samples to try. This was in the beginning when I started my collection. I'm not the right person to give a review on this scent since I'm not an oud guy. Sure , I can appreciate small amounts in a scent but I'm not into oud scents per say. This isn't the darkest and heaviest oud I have smelled in a frag . This I would say is middle ground. It gives you this sauvage elixir and drakkar noir vibe but with an amplified oud note. I could actually get used to this but its not my typical choice. I think it's very well made. Perhaps not as good straight out of the box as after some time of maceration.
I found this at Burlington before I even heard of Oud for Greatness. The first time I sprayed, it was horrible, medicinal. The thing is, I kept going back to it. First I used it to scent my journal, and then I would wear it to bed. I think I was trying to comprehend what I was smelling. My curiosity got the better of me and I bought a decant of Oud for Greatness so I could compare, and to my nose it is similar. The Lattafa is certainly more “synthetic.” It smells cheaper, but I don’t think anyone is going to notice. I like to layer on Qaed Al Fursan; just half a spray gives it a little fruitiness. Be careful with this fragrance because it has the potential to be cloying if overused.
This was my first oud fragrance. I had originally tested it and immediately disliked it, the opening is a very strong saffron spicy plastic like smell. I continued to walk around the store and after a few short minutes the dry down began and man was it good, a strong oud woody smell in tandem with the patchouli in the mids and my favorite part was the bottom notes; oud again patchouli but with a musk at the back end that really smoothed things out. I’ve never smelled the original but this wasn’t really harsh and not smooth as some reviews said. I personally love it, and see myself going for it on colder days.
