The Noir 29

i've had this perfume for several months now. i use it almost every day. it has become one of the most precious things i own. this perfume opens smelling like wine, very strong alcohol scent. this is one of the only le labo scents that has a distinct middle transition period (to my nose) where it turns into fig. really, really, excellent fig smell. and then it settles into this grassy tea smell, leaning more grassy than tea. i don't know if i get too much black tea from this, in all honesty, it's mostly fig mixed with earthy, grassy elegance. i wish this could be my signature scent, but i honestly think it wears me. i want to become the type of person who wears this and it fits them perfectly as a fragrance. reliable performance and amazing sillage. scent stays all day, and i can smell it on me and in the humid air when i shower. the best scent le labo has produced. inimitable. if sade were a perfume.

This is an exceptionally beautiful fragrance. Ive been wearing this around 10 years now - first purchase in Melbourne, around Easter and subsequently from Amsterdam on a sunny crisp November day. - so whether by default or design, it’s irrevocably linked to autumn in my mind. I wear both the perfume, and the oil - the latter as a beard conditioner, which gives an incredibly intense experience, as this continual irradiation and inhalation - which feels like an incredibly intimate way to wear it. I guess not so dissimilar from aftershaves of old. TN29 has this deeply seductive, mysterious quality to it I love the smoky citrus opening and the way the woody fig seems to unfurl through it. I’m now planning on 3rd bottle. I don’t quite know why I overlook this one as often as I do. Wearing it is always an uplifting experience.

I have never had a perfume where I could pick out as many of the notes as I can in this one. This is fresh and earthy definitely unisex but I could see gravitating toward this one anytime of year anytime of day. In the winter, I think it would feel almost crisp. In the spring, it would feel green like all the new green coming out. In the summer, as long as you don't way over spray I think it would feel clean even if you were super sweaty and in the fall, you've got that kind of harvest note with the hay making me think of hayrides and warm ciders.... I think it's just perfect for anything and a super easy reach I love tea scents and this one is just special. This one reminds me of sun tea on a wraparound porch late in the evening just watching the clouds go by at some very rural very calm and relaxed home.

One of the few scents in my opinion that is truly androgynous. I would describe this scent as complex, when I smell it it’s hard to pick out individual notes. Is really quite nebulous and mysterious to my nose other than it smells like leaves, aromatic, slightly smoky, with a hint of something floral and relaxing like lavender or chamomile (even tho I know those aren’t notes, which is why this fragrance stays confusing but gorj to me). Great everyday scent for cool people, would be a sexy quirky nighttime fragrance for somebody boring. By far surpasses the hype of some of the other fragrances from this house but I plan on continuing to gatekeep this one. Also has insane projection and longevity to me, lofty price for this brand but a big bottle lasted me over 3 years of almost everyday wear.
