Artisan Forest

This one was love at first sniff for me and I had been waiting for it to hit discounters. Yet, here we are 7 months after launch and it's still only available at retail, which is odd for a JV release. It seems to only be available on the JV website and at Nordstrom, but no other stores in the US. Weird. It also appears to be the first EDP in the Artisan lineup. It's also strange that a release from a big brand like this only has 5 comments this long after release.

Smells really good and is much more woody vs being "green", although touches of green are definitely present. Also, JV Artisan Forest is NOT your typical "Fig/Fig-Leaf fragrance which I love, but have so many fragrances with very similar Fig-Leaf accords, but this is different.

Aromatic/green/woody with a hint of sweetness & citrus. It's got a slight barbershop/fougère vibe. The opening fades very quickly but after that the notes stay very consistent, getting smoother and blending well until the end.

Tested today. so far the best john Varvatos I'd say. it's fleshing green and flowery smell for men.

This is one of those scents that just works in almost every setting. Crisp spring walls, hot summer days, damp autumn outings.
