Oud Wood

The batch code is D6223025 and the ingredients code is ILN49272. I’ve got 3 sprays of this in my elbow crease from a decant. On the initial spray, I get this dry woody medicinal rough scent. Based on other ouds that I have smelled, this one is on the medicinal side. There is also the pepper there adding a little sharpness. After abit, the cardamom and amber start to show themselves but the medicinal oud smell is still there too. I can also smell a little tonka adding a rubbery nuance. The vanilla is there but it’s playing more of a supporting role giving the scent a tiny bit of sweetness. Ultimately, it’s mainly a dry slightly medicinal ambery woody perfume. Definitely a classy scent profile that can be worn all day or for special occasions. Performance wise, It’s lightly projecting but it has decent silage. Longevity seems moderate to long lasting on my skin. This brings me to the downside of this perfume. For the ingredients used and the type of perfume style, you would expect this to be really strong but it’s not whereas the price is still really high. That's annoying cause the smell itself is pretty good. Overall, this is a really good smelling classy perfume and it’s definitely a must try but maybe get a decant and test it on skin first to see if it performs better on your skin in case the performance is a deal breaker

This reminds me of our noir by Versace. In some ways I like it more than our noir, I think the oud in this smells a bit better and more expressive than the Versace. I do prefer the bitter orange, saffron, and neroli in the Versace though, it gives it a fresh/aromatic quality to it which makes it more versatile in my opinion. Oud wood is definitely a colder weather fragrance. I do enjoy the scent profile quite a lot, but for the price, I would rather buy the Versace.

Smells expensive, unique and smooth. It is probably one of my favourite scents, ESPECIALLY the opening. First compliment I got was "it doesn't smell synthetic at all", by someone who hates most aftershave smells. Smell is very nice and sweet, but not vanilla or fruit sweet. It is like a woody, creamy sweet, and gets less sweet the longer it dries down, but it's not at all "dark" or masculine as people claim it is. It is simply a thick, neutral sweet posh scent.

I love this. It has a super refreshing piney opening. It's very woody and sits somewhere between fresh lumber and a polished wood floor. A subtle sweetness helps round it out and prevent it from being too harsh. The drydown is super addictive. This is close to my idea of a perfect woody fragrance. Unfortunately, the performance seems to be pretty bad, which is a shame.

Got this as a sample with my Sephora order and have been holding on to this tiny sample for as long as possible. I was scared of oud for a long time because it can smell harsh or medicinal. But this is beautiful. It’s smooth and polite. My only real issue is the cost. I just can't justify the price tag when it completely vanishes from my skin after three hours.
