Ylang Ylang Nosy Be

This is so gorgeous, feminine and tropical. This is not your typical juvenile teenie bopper sunscreen Pina colada type of body spray. This is a grown woman spending her summer on a yacht. When I smell this fragrance I think of a secure, confident, beautiful woman who just naturally tans, wears minimal makeup she’s just a sun-drenched goddess. She’s been sun bathing all day , her man buys her an exotic bouquet of fresh tropical flowers and she’s just put on her oils and creams after a nice hot bath. Really beautifully done . There’s texture to this fragrance , it has a vintage ylang vibe with a modern twist. I don’t find this dated at all. It’s so classic and modern at the same time . I wish I could smell like this all the time but doesn’t seem season appropriate on the east coast . When I want vacation vibes or the weather calls for it I enjoy wearing it both day and night. Superb. This was a blind buy after thoroughly researching a mature, modern, classy ylang tropical scent with creamy nuances. Did not disappoint from first sniff.

My favorite ylang forward scent. Such a gem. So creamy, sweet, and realistic smelling. There is a tartness to this one that I find rather addicting. It's very sexy and the longevity is excellent. The scent stays consistent for a solid 10 hours. I keep getting whiffs of it throughout the day and what I appreciate is that the scent doesn't play any peek-a-boo games with me and change throughout its longevity. It stays fairly consistent throughout the 10 hours I wear it. It's great for layering, especially with Vanilla de Tahiti. Perris Monte Carlo really knows how to make excellent, natural smelling fragrances that have great longevity and for very fair prices. It's obvious that they are using high quality raw materials in their perfumes and aren't skimpy about the doses they give us, either. I highly recommend this line and encourage you to try some of their offerings. I think they do tropical warm weather scents best, but even my Tuberose scent from them is excellent.

Very sweet and creamy vanilla scent. It's a blend of sugary vanilla and smooth sandalwood, with the sweetness almost reminding me of a banana. I detect a little bit of ylang ylang, but not a whole lot, which does make it a little bit disappointing to me. Years ago I smelled an amazing, the most realistic ylang ylang scent, which has since been discontinued, and I haven't found anything like that since then, unfortunately not even this fragrance comes close. Maybe I just expected this to be a bit more floral leaning, but on my skin it comes off slightly gourmand. It's a really good scent, lasts long and projects well, it's comforting.. just not what I expected. It's also rather warm, so I am a little bit shocked, that so many people consider this a spring and summer fragrance.. but it is great for fall or that transition time between summer and fall.

This is a lovely, elegant, sofisticated, non suntanny, non cloying, tropical ylang ylang fragrance. The lemon and grapefruit notes are quite prominent in the beginning, but the ylang ylang is already very present. Then, the citruses become less strong and the creaminess of ylang and vanilla take centre stage, but the whole is never too strong, too sweet or cloying. Everything is really well blended and citrussy freshness, and creamy swetness are perfectly balanced. This perfume is very natural smelling, does not project like crazy and it last a decent time on my skin. I read comments of people saying this is an "old lady", a "grandma" scent... Now, apart from the fact that this is quite of an idiotic concept per se, if your grandmother smells / used to smell like this, well, you should certainly follow her example...

Ylang Ylang is the best supporting actress of the perfume world. It is the Stockard Channing to tuberose's Meryl Streep or jasmine's Olivia Newton-John. Unconventionally attractive, complex and provocative, it rarely is given its own spotlight. In Ylang Ylang Nosy Be, named for the Madagascar island from which the particular ylang ylang used derives, even still relies heavily on vanilla and spice to bring out this mercurial flower's best qualities. It opens luxuriously bright and effulgent, yet creamy and intoxicating. The delicious banana custard facet that I find so appealing is in full glory here, contrasting with the neroli-like, bittersweet top qualities. There is also a touch of warm camphor from an accompanying cardamom.
