The One For Men Eau de Toilette

Maybe my 3rd fragrance into collecting. Got a sample on scent bird and ended up getting 2 samples off scent bird because I liked it so much on first smell. Great versatile scent, one of my favorite dna's of all time, its like a refined orange... that's the simplest and most accurate way to describe it, its not a fresh orange like LV... something I'm not too familiar with the LV scents but theres a mandarin one, the one is on the opposite side of the spectrum where its warm and sweet, yet it can be warn any time of the year aside from maybe summer or if you live in a state like Florida or California maybe only during the night time. Anyway, i love this scent, i could recommend this to any man but don't wear it because I need to be the only one wearing this lol. The edp is better but I don't own it yet but I guarantee its better from the few times ive smelled it, its the same but better in every way, this edt lacks in sillage, depth, projection and longevity for me, in the winter months it can last up to 6+ hours as a skin scent but when it start to get warmer its not making it past the 4 hour mark atleast from my experience if I'm moving at all during the day or if its warm out this usually falls off significantly at the 2hr mark which is a shame because I love this scent so much. Would buy a second bottle and I do recommend this scent but I want to gatekeep it at the same time.

A template masculine that takes some mild detours off road in some pretty nice and surprising ways. You can tell it was going to be a bit different from D&G's description: top notes of bergamot, coriander and basil, the middle motes bring in cardamom, ginger and neroli, with base notes of cedar, ambergris and tobacco. And yes, shockingly, that's what you get! The qualities of the ingredients and the blending is such that it gives the impression of a slightly sweet spiced amber, but, with more time and careful study, then you realize that there are some actually fairly clever tactics employed to deliver the mandate of an easier-going perfume than what's typical of the sweet spiced amber genre. It's a touch thick and a bit cloying, but it lets the herbaceous and spice accords play in the air as they should and give the perfume a truly pleasant lift into the air - not something you get frequently with mainstream releases of sweet spiced ambers. All of this praise considered but set to one side, the vision and voice are nothing particularly new, noteworthy, or impressible. But that's ok. Not every perfume needs to break molds or boundaries. Ones that give you exactly what the masses want but does so in clever ways have an appreciated place.

This is my Dads go to fragrance, its been his go to for 10 years now and maybe even way more. He is sensitive to specific smells especially strong and or overly synthetic smells but this is the only fragrance that does not give him a headache and that he actually enjoys. Of course hes not into fragrances and he wears this all the time, but it makes him feel good. So I tried it on myself too and I have to say that its one of the most amazing sexy, masculine date night fragrance ive smelled so far. Unfortunately the projection and longevity are moderate, nothing too crazy, but the scent is unbeilevable. If you want a very nice date night/winter/special occasion/office (with ac) type of fragrance and you have the money, go for it. Absolutely timeless scent. Goof stuff

in my honest opinion I think the original edt is the best one. I smelled the EDP, and the luminous night which are both the most hyped. I own a full bottle of the edp as well and the difference between the edp and edt are so minimal its ridiculous. The edt is a tad bit brighter but still unmistakably a fall scent. Everytime I have worn my edt i garner a compliment most the time from someone. No other scent smells quite like this one. I never really had issues with longevity or sillage either. To me on my skin and clothes it lasts a good 8 hours and it must give a good sillage if I have people complimenting it. It becomes a skin scent after 6 hours. Will always have a bottle of this in my collection!

Everything you've read about how slight of a scent it is and how poor its longevity is, is true about The One. The fragrance develops well. I get a powdery sweet spiciness in the opening. The tobacco rises to the forefront during The One's half life, where Spicebomb Extreme begins to come to mind. Finally, you're left with the embers of that unmistakable, creamy cardamom. Mild from the start, it becomes a skin scent after hour one and then a whisper for 3-4 more hours before disappearing. At least it can be had cheaply from discounters. The One is probably best served for date night/intimate encounters. I prefer YSL's La Nuit de l'Homme in this fragrance category.
