Lineage For Women

The scent of the ocean with some woods and resins! This really surprised me. I honestly thought that the aquatic notes people were talking about would be more of the traditional aquatic/fresh, but this is like a photorealistic ocean scent. It opens with some peppery notes that are complimented with frankincense and myrrh. There is this mineralic, saline-like accord here that plays very well with the frankincense and helps complete the aquatic notes. To my nose it paints a picture of being on an old wooden ship carrying oriental spices and incenses. As it dries down the resins and woods become more prominent, but not overtaking the oceanic profile. Projection is moderate, only going a touch beyond arms length, and the longevity about 8-10 hours. I rate it a 8.5/10. Very unique and beautiful, reminiscent of my childhood on the Gulf Coast.

Supremely refined and restrained, Amouage lineage has no need to shout. It’s a woody, incense and lightly spiced fragrance with a glowing citrus heart that brings to mind rocky coast and mineral breezes. And sunshine. It smells very natural. I agree with others that it has this seaside in winter vibe, even though it lists none of those notes. Still, by some alchemy, that is what is created. The mix of elements are kept simmering just at the edge of awareness, and this supreme confidence makes it very appealing. To my taste it leans masculine, and even though I love this austere type of beach fragrance for myself, this is one I’d like to smell on my husband. It feels like a cold walk on a sunny and windy abandoned beach, which is definitely one of my favorite things.

I'm surprised that this is currently rated sub 4, but fragrance is always subjective. As you can probably tell, I am a fan of this creation as it's a unique aquatic, that's dream like; it's like salty clouds. To my nose this is 100% unisex down the middle. Semi-spicy aquatic with a nice incense note and reminds me a little of lyric man. This is not the type of fragrance that demands attention, it's more of a introverted curiosity that supplements your character. This strength of this fragrance is no slouch, but it's not the type of overwhelming fragrance that you hold everyone captive. Longevity is good, projection is good, and silage is good. This is a great fragrance for spring and summer. As far as sprays, less is more.

I think that the listed notes on this one don’t fully paint the picture of how it smells, the description is more accurate. For me Lineage is absolutely beautiful. I actually strongly prefer it over Guidance, which seems to be the more popular one. Lineage gives me the feeling of some sort of ancient temple by the sea. There is a cool breeze, but you also feel this mineral quality from the stones that have been warmed by the sun. There is incense burning in the distance, but it blends with the slightly salty, sea breeze. It’s just beautiful.

My favorite signature scent at this time. Mineral, but with wood depth. The pepper is a beautiful open. Unsual for Amouage, gorgeous with an oud resin layer underneath. Very wearable; I think of the ocean, of a spa, of temples. Incense plus aquatic, but NOT blue/dude-cologne-aquatic. I can't stop smelling it, and it has set a high bar for mineral + wood. I often wear oud or out blend attars neat... layering this on top blew my little mind. It's just so special. I bought a second bottle out of paranoia that they would discontinue.
